Giving Ho Ho Hope

Giving Ho Ho Hope

For the past several years, Lincoln’s Christmas Station B107.3 has looked to help make an impact on the capital city by encouraging listeners to open their hearts and help those less fortunate in our community, especially at Christmastime.

This year, B107.3 teamed up with Edward Jones and Robidoux, Inc. to support the Nebraska Foster and Adoptive Parents Association (NFAPA) with Giving Ho Ho Hope, a Christmas charity drive aimed at collecting toys and funds for our state’s most vulnerable children.

Because of listener support and the partnership with Edward Jones and Robidoux, B107.3 was able to go on a shopping spree for NFAPA, one in which I got to tag along on. Take a look at the video I put together below!

Like with many projects I’ve been doing lately, I’m using my Canon EOS R6 for this. The lens is mostly a Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 because that’s what I had available at the time. Yeah, a Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 would have been better, but for this particular project, the 50mm did a pretty good job. You just have to be a little more cognizant of your surroundings when shooting with the 50mm, because you have to be a little ways away from your subject, but the visual effect is great.

And yeah, I’d like to be operating with more cinematic equipment (wouldn’t we all?), but what I have also works pretty good for photography. Look, I ain’t rich, but I’m still able to craft a pretty good video (at least I hope most of you find it good).

As always, take a look at my portfolio page to see more of my work, which includes more of the videos I’ve shot in the past. And visit NFAPA’s website to learn more about what you can do to help foster families here in Nebraska.
